Canada Agricultural Partnership
The Canada Agricultural Partnership (CAP) is a five-year, $3 Billion investment by federal, provincial and territorial governments to strengthen the agriculture and agri-food sector – a key area of economic growth and job creation – to deliver the greatest benefits for farmers, food processors and Canadian families.
The Partnership features:
- Simplified and streamlined programs and services that are easier to access
- Key enhancements to programs that help farmers manage significant risks that threaten the viability of their farm and are beyond their capacity to manage

Food Safety and Traceability System Improvements 50% up to $60,000 grant value
Technology and Equipment to Improve Labour Productivity: 25% up to $100,000 grant value
Develop New Products or Processes: 35% up to $75,000 grant value
Market Products in Canada: 35% up to $45,000 grant value
Market Products Internationally: 35% up to $50,000 grant value
Ingredient Efficiency and Waste Reduction: 35% up to $75,000 grant value
Traceability System Improvements (Animal Health) 50% up to $60,000 grant value
Up to 50% of eligible expenditures to a maximum of $500,000 in grant value.

Capital Assets and Equipment Investments:
- Over $1 million: Up to 25% of eligible costs on the first $100,000
Assurance: Up to 50% of eligible costs to a maximum of $25,000. Consultant fees are capped at $15,000
Market Development: Up to 50% of eligible costs to a maximum of $20,000 annually. The minimum project size is $3,000
