Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) Calculator
Canadian Employers Can Use This Tool to Calculate Their Wage Subsidy Eligibility
Welcome to the GrantMatch’s Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) Calculator. This calculator is intended to be used by business managers to estimate their CEWS amount for the selected claim period. The information requested, and the calculations provided within this tool, are based on the GrantMatch Team’s technical assessment and interpretation of the Canada Revenue Agency’s technical program guidelines, and the Government of Canada’s proposed program changes announced on July 17, 2020 that will be taking effect for the claim periods dated July 5, 2020 to November 21, 2020.
As a Canadian employer whose business has been affected by COVID-19, you may be eligible for a subsidy of 75% of employee wages for up to 16 weeks, retroactive from March 15, 2020, to July 4, 2020. Beginning July 5th, the Government of Canada’s proposed program changes may provide eligible businesses with a subsidy of up to 85% of employee wages for the months of July and August, up to 75% for the month of September, up to 65% for the month of October, and up to 45% for the month of November.
This wage subsidy is designed to enable businesses to re-hire workers previously laid off as a result of COVID-19, help prevent further job losses, and better position you to resume normal operations following the crisis.
Applications for claim period 5 (July 5 to August 1) will open August 17, 2020.
