Program Details
As a Canadian employer whose business has been affected by COVID-19, you may be eligible for a subsidy of 75% of employee wages for up to 16 weeks, retroactive from March 15, 2020, to July 4, 2020. Beginning July 5th, the Government of Canada’s proposed program changes may provide eligible businesses with a subsidy of up to 85% of employee wages for the months of July and August, up to 75% for the month of September, up to 65% for the month of October, and up to 45% for the month of November.
This wage subsidy is designed to enable businesses to re-hire workers previously laid off as a result of COVID-19, help prevent further job losses, and better position you to resume normal operations following the crisis.
Applications for claim period 5 (July 5 to August 1) will open August 17, 2020.
