The Fairtax Grants & Incentives team is currently seeking an energetic, organized and proactive individual to join our team at our Oakville Office. If you have a positive outlook, good communication skills and are familiar with the variety of accounting functions found in a small business environment – then you are a perfect fit.

Experience in all 4 areas is required:

  • Accounts Receivable; entering invoices, posting payments, collection calls
  • Accounts Payable; entering bills, credit cards, semi-monthly cheque/ACH runs, expense reports, commission/bonus reports
  • Payroll for Ontario employees, employee file and benefit management
  • All bookkeeping; functions using Quickbooks: bank deposits, reconciliations, journal entries through to the Trial balance, understands Financial Statements

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, journal entries, month end closing entries, cash management, bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Perform collection calls for AR
  • Knowledge of Provincial and Federal Government filings
  • Payroll for Ontario, remittances, EHT, T4’s and form 2200 (Ceridian payroll experience would be an asset)
  • Maintain a detailed record of all past due accounts and analyze overdue amounts
  • Prepare monthly commission/Bonus reports and payments for payroll for employees and consultants
  • Update CRM or comparable tracking system with invoices and client payments
  • Year-end documentation preparation for accounting and payroll

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proven working knowledge of QuickBooks
  • CRM (Customer Relationship Management)
  • Strong computer data entry skills
  • Experienced in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Energetic and driven with a strong sense of urgency
  • Careful attention to accuracy and detail
  • Ability to work independently and to multi-task
  • Experience with all bookkeeping entries to trial balance and produce monthly financial statements
  • Education: 2-3 years post-secondary certification in Accounting or a related field
  • Payroll: 2-3 years’ experience and knowledge of Ontario standard act regulations
